creativity
ok, a real post! not just pictures! probably no one is excited...if you are reading this, buckle in, i think it might be a little longer than normal.
so today was our monthly day with the Lord and it couldn't have come at a better time. i prayed for a lot of things last night before i went to bed and one of those things was that i would just be creative and that i would write again (maybe that's two things).
well, gracias a Dios, He not only listens to our prayers, but He answers them. He really didn't have to, it was kind of a selfish prayer on top of a million other things i am praying through right now. but, He is good and knew it would help me connect with Him and so He answered.
i was thinking about 2 passages when inspiration struck:
the first was in exodus when they start to build the tabernacle...i love this pasage because it shows me that a. God is creative because He gave all the plans to my homeslice Moses and b. that He gives creativity to others because He appointed all the workers to make this beautiful tabernacle where He would dwell!
"Then Moses said to the Israelites, 'See the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts..." -exodus 35:30,31
the other verse i was thinking of came when i was praying for my friend and old discipler, corrie, who is doing mission work in mexico with her cute family. she always talked about malachi 3:16 as one of her favorite verses which talks about a scroll of remembrance of those who were faithful to God even though the majority of his people, including the preists, weren't.
there have been some pretty significant things to happen to me over this year, both hard and wonderful, and so i started to make my own scroll of rememberance. well, it's actually a cool journal i got in calafate of remembrance. but it was really good for me to start it today...to look back at journal entries and see all the hundreds of ways He has been good to me interspersed with the hard things...if i'm being honest, it has been hard for me to completely trust in His goodness as of late and this helped me so very much.
i think it's a good practice to remember tangible evidences of His goodness...so we don't lose focus even for a second during the midst of a drought or a storm.
still with the creativity theme but off on a bit of a tangent, tomorrow marks my first guitar lesson. i am super excited. i pretty much have no idea if i'll be good at it or not, but i'm praying that i will be and i'm going to try my hardest! i just love music and i want to give it a go! maybe i won't be able to sing along with myself (at least when others are around) but it's going to be fun! muuuuuuuchas gracias a mi amiga iri!
well, i think i am going to see what the bats have to say...they are being really loud this evening. maybe they have some creative ideas to share with me about life inside my blinds?
besos and crystal lite,
jess
