"for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things"

my heart

this morning i woke up with earth, wind and fire in my head. it was the most rested and joyful i have felt in a long time. it felt good. i put on a good will tshirt so that people would think that i am fresh and original.

but the moment that i stepped out the door, God kept pressing His message of humility on my heart. i ran smack into a man as i was trying to put on my "re fashion" argentine sunglasses. i tried to apologize, but he gave me the pissiest look ever. i then proceeded to trip and walked to the wrong apartment building. all in like 5 minutes. then, castellano class was difficult. there is so much i don't have mastery over. english club was a mini-disaster and lucia did not show up.

tonight i realized the walls i have been putting up before the Lord. and i finally took a minute to be honest about how i feel before Him. it is always so hard for me to do this, but i always feel refreshed after doing it. i am so thankful for His timing. now i can really enjoy my day with the Lord tomorrow because the walls are already down. i don't have to spend the whole day trying to figure out what is wrong.

these thoughts, verses, quotes have been swimming through my mind over the past few days:

blessed are the poor in spirit;
God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble;
admit you are a mess before the Lord;
draw near to God and He will draw near to you;
pride destroys our capacity to love;
see to it that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God;
pride is the choice to exclude both God and other people from the righful place in our hearts;
encourage one another daily, as long as it is still called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness;
humble yourself before the Lord, and He will lift you up;
Your spirit moves through me like a mighty rushing wind;
see, I am doing a new thing; do you not perceive it?
TODAY.

blessed be your name;
He became obedient to death, even death on a cross;
surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows;
peirced for our transgressions;
bore the sins for many;
bore our sins in His body on a tree;
He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities;
His mercies are new every morning;
the ground is level at the foot of the cross;
for by His wounds we are healed;
URGENCY.
