2006...

i haven't really thought much about new years these past years...i've always been on my way to christmas conference and there the new year is not really celebrated, just prayed over.

in argentina, and la plata especially, new years is a big deal, bigger than christmas i'm told. fireworks at midnight, and then everyone heads outside to watch big huge "dolls" stuffed with fireworks be burned up. so, i guess if that is celebrationg, that's what i'll be doing.

it seems strange to me that we celebrate the year passing...i would think a birthday would be sufficient. for me, there's so many things i want to hold on to from this year. it makes me a little scared to think that my diploma says 2005, the tarheels won the national championship in 2005, a friend was alive in 2005...

now it's 2006.

and i know that it will fly by just as quickly as 2005, i mean, it's going to be march before i know it with all this traveling we're about to do.

there will be very sweet moments. there will be very hard moments. i will continue to trust God. life is but a mist, a vapor...

i pray 2006 will be full of love. that's what this life is all about anyway.
