the oven is fixed...por fin!

remember that fateful day back in june when our oven exploded?

well, luckily today, a solid 2 months later, it has been fully repaired and is in working order!

it was the biggest hassle of all times to get it repaired. full of our landlady not wanting to pay for it, the first place we took it to wanting to charge us $300 pesos to fix it, sarah and our landlady going on a field trip to get the oven door back and countless moments of wanting to cook something and not being able to.

in the end, friendly repairman diego showed up today a little after 6 and left about 10 minutes afterward...no drilling, no loud noises. just slid the glass on the door and put the door back on the oven. highly anti-climatic.

but then we made an awesome strawberry cake to christen the new oven glass.

and it was delicious.

and we all lived happily ever after.
