fall has...fallen
or, at least it's in the process of falling.
yesterday it was cool and damp, the first day i truly wanted to drink a warm drink since being back in argentina. so i made hot chocolate.
it rained for a week straight, a sure sign of incoming fall and winter. today we finally saw the sun...i really missed it. when it's nasty outside i have a really hard time getting out of bed, i mean, extremely hard. and during the day i don't want to go anywhere or do anything, except sit around and listen to patty griffin.
i'm glad to be here in argentina, but this year is different. i feel different.
for example, i started working out. which has absolutely never happened in my life. for 2 weeks straight i have consistently worked out. and i mean, really worked out, because iri is training me.
also, i am working on humanidades this year, as opposed to journalism. i know i will and already do miss journalism, but i am enjoying the challenge of being on a new campus. no one has really worked on humanidades in a while, so we're starting things up from the beginning. definitely a learning experience. it's not easy, but i'm excited.
this year, every sunday i feel like i walk around with a perpetual lump in my throat...trying to fight off homesickness and tears. i'm not really sure why it happens on sunday. not really sure why it happens in general...it's just a general feeling of melancholy.
but i am learning a lot of lessons, especially about rest and grace. i know there is a lot more to learn. i am continually overwhelmed by the mercy that God has poured out on my family, and i couldn't be more thankful for the people that are in my life.
this blog was maybe a little sad, but my one faithful reader, glenn landes, wanted an update, so here it is. i'm truly glad to be in argentina, it's just a little harder this year. like i said things are different. but, luckily, God is still good. in this i hope.
