i am naive.

ok, so i have been learning a lot about myself at this new job. i mentioned in my last post that i am all of a sudden very aware that i do not have very thick skin. i mean, i've always known i'm sensitive and take things too personally, but when people get pissed at you because you don't have a job to put them in, well, let's just say i take things way too personally.

i also definitely almost always believe the best in people, which i hope doesn't change. but i think to some extent this makes me naive. for example: this cute little man (probably around 40 years old) from mexico comes in and wants to work at a styrofoam plant. so he has to take a basic english and math test, which he does incredibly well on. so he's a great candidate. all he has to do is take a drug test and i have to run a police check. he's like, no problema.

so i'm like hey, are you on any medications? just pepcid AC for his heartburn.

well, we do the drug tests on site, so we have the results in two minutes. so this super nice, intelligent man goes and pees in the cup. and of course this is the first drug test that i've seen come back positive since i started working. so i grab my boss and i'm like, i think this drug test is positive...not sure what to say. she gets like insanely excited, like she can't wait to burst someone's bubble, and walks into the bano with me. she's like, yep, that's positive. so i say, well he's taking pepcid AC, maybe that's it?

yea, she laughed at me.

moral of the story: just say no guys. i mean, really.

on a random note, i'm watching the oscars and excited that "juno" just won best original screenplay. and that "once" got a little shoutout, too. haven't been very excited or in agreement otherwise.

also excited that i only work 3 days this week because i'm going to indiana for sarah's wedding! and that i'll get to see many argentina friends! hooray!
