update from korea
hello to all! sorry i haven't been updating a lot, but computer time has been infrequent since arriving to korea.
we have finished up the conference...CM2007 was truly an unforgettable experience. i will never forget the picture of the world that it gave me. on the opening night of the conference, representatives from all 129 countries went on stage with the flag of their country. it brought tears to my eyes to see such a picture of how big God is. it really increased my faith to see that image...sometimes i feel alone, but that is truly not the case! there is a worldwide network of believers devoted to christ!
korea has a really amazing heritage...i never realized it. about 35% of the population are christians and the christians here are completely devoted to prayer. i have been greatly challenged to develop this area of my life by witnessing their humble example.
on friday, we left the city of busan and came to seoul, the capital city. we are here through monday night, when we leave for a mission trip in spain.
honestly, i feel a little useless because of the enormous language barrier. the best i can do in korean is hello and thank you. but i continue to believe that God wants me to learn a lot about prayer, so that's what i've been doing. today i had the privelage to pray while a korean member of my team shared the gospel of Christ with a young girl and she said yes to Christ and invited him into her heart!
the church we are working with is so generous and amazing. we are being treated like royalty. right now, we are in a sauna for the night...a very cultural experience...worthy of a post all its own.
the food is so different, but really very good!
so, i am happy and well...learning a lot...which is really all i could ever ask for!
please keep us in your prayers!
love, jess
